Namaloko area is about 300 metres from kibabii university but it is one of the most fearful places by kibabii university student .Residents and villages explain why end up nicknaming it namaloko..


Emmanuel wanyonyi butieli Resident a village next to namaloko explain that namaloko area was named after a famous spring that villagers fetch their water. "Namaloko is a kibukusu word that means witchcraft .people of kibabii decides to nickname this  village namaloko because of its spring and some witchcraft  activities that was going on their long time ago and because of that ,they ended up naming it namaloko area..


Joseph masika a 56 year old man of namaloko area and who is also a village elder narrates the meaning of the word namaloko in luyha language. "Namaloko  is a luyha word wich means witchcraft "


According to Elizabeth masika a wife to Joseph says before renovation of namaloko  spring they used to collect water just from a small hole .some days very early in the morning when they go their to fetch water they found some scarey things which they believed it was witchcraft.
